Functional Capacity Evaluations

At BeWorkFit, our Functional Capacity Evaluations are designed to ensure employees can meet the physical demands of their role—safely and sustainably. These assessments play a critical role in injury prevention and are a valuable component of your overall Workplace Health and Safety strategy.

Why Choose a Functional Capacity Evaluation?

An FCE helps you:

  • Create a safer workplace

  • Reduce the risk of injuries

  • Lower WorkCover claims and insurance costs

  • Minimise downtime and lost productivity

  • Support structured return-to-work programs

  • Match employee capabilities to job requirements

Whether you're onboarding new staff or supporting an employee returning after injury, an FCE provides objective data to guide safe decision-making.

What Does the FCE Involve?

Each assessment is tailored to the individual and the role, and may include testing of:

  • Physical strength and stamina

  • Range of motion and flexibility

  • Tolerance to job-specific tasks (e.g. lifting, carrying, repetitive movements)

A comprehensive report is provided, outlining the worker’s current functional capacity. Where appropriate, it includes a Return to Work or Suitable Duties Plan.

Every FCE is customised to meet the needs of your business and the specific demands of the job—supporting your team’s health while protecting your bottom line.
